About Stack Workbench
Stack Workbench is an independent publication that reviews and compares business software — AI tools, automation platforms, CRMs, email marketing tools, website builders, and everything a modern small business runs on.
Why we exist
Buying software has a trust problem. Review sites publish scores for products nobody tested, “best of” lists rank whoever pays the highest commission, and pricing pages hide the real costs. We started Stack Workbench to do it differently:
- No score without testing. A product shows “not yet reviewed” until we’ve actually used it.
- Verified facts. Every price and plan limit carries a last-verified date — and we re-check them.
- Commissions don’t buy rankings. Our editorial team decides every ranking. Vendors can’t pay for placement.
How we’re funded
Stack Workbench is reader-supported through affiliate commissions: when you buy through a link on our site, the vendor may pay us a commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed clearly on every commercial page and in our affiliate disclosure. We also offer clearly labeled advertising placements under our advertising policy.
Who we are
Stack Workbench is currently run by a small editorial team. As the publication grows, we’ll introduce our reviewers by name with their credentials. Until then, content is published under “Editorial Team” — we’d rather be honest about our size than invent author personas.
